Your Mokoro safari will begin as you head out into the many reed channels of the Okavango Delta. Your guide will already have an update of any exciting or special sightings in the area. Most guide are from the Bayei tribal people who many believe to be the first inhabitants of the Okavango Delta, “people of the Delta” so to speak. • Day 7: Scenic Delta flight

The sounds of the bush will wake you up on this beautiful morning. A delicious breakfast and freshly brewed coffee will be served. (different dietary requirements are catered for)

Today you will enjoy a scenic fight over the Okavango Delta. This is one amazing experience!

Enjoy a breath-taking flight in your own private aircraft over the Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is a vast inland river delta in Northern Botswana, known for its sprawling grassy plains, which flood seasonally, turning the land into a lush animal habitat. Dugout canoes are used to navigate past hippos, elephants, and crocodiles. On dry land, wildlife includes lions, leopards, giraffes, rhinos, and more.

Depart from Maun Airport. Take in views of the beautiful channels that meander through the papyrus-fringed waterways, passing palm-covered islands. Gear up for high chances of heart-stopping excitement and big game viewing. Observe how the channels wander through the delta in ever-changing paths as this dynamic water system evolves. The vastness of this pristine wilderness is breath-taking.

Sightseeing from a small plane on a scenic flight will give you the ultimate view of the Okavango Delta’s spectacular geography and wildlife. There’s no better way to grasp the outstanding beauty of the Okavango Delta region. Once the flight is complete, the plane will land at Maun Airport where the activity started.

Picnic snacks and refreshments are included and will be served once you “hit the ground”.

Afterwards, you will have some time to freshen up and then join us around the open fire and enjoy your last night in Botswana.

You will overnight in a luxury safari tent.

  • Day 8: Full day Moremi/Khwai safari

Waking up at sunrise the first birdcalls of the day, you fill your lungs with the crisp morning air before enjoying some freshly brewed coffee or tea and some home baked biscuits prepared for you and receive a packed breakfast before an early morning departure on your full day open vehicle safari in the Moremi/Khwai game reserves. (different dietary requirements are catered for)

Moremi is the home to nearly 500 species of bird (from water birds to forest dwellers), and a vast array of other species of wildlife, including buffalo, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyaena, jackal, impala, and red lechwe and African Wild dog.

Experience this in an open game vehicle specially converted, allowing one to absorb and experience sightings with all of your senses when up and close to wildlife. Your experienced game ranger will teach you about all aspects of nature and interpret wildlife behaviour to you in a unique way. Followed by dinner typically under the stars in the open Boma.

You will overnight in a luxury safari tent.

  • Day 9: Makgadikgadi Pans

The sounds of the bush will wake you up on this beautiful morning. A delicious breakfast and freshly brewed coffee will be served. (different dietary requirements are catered for)

Today we will make our way to the Makgadikgadi Pans. Makgadikgadi is a series of pans that make the area up to 12000 sq km, the largest of which are the Sowa and Ntetwe. Surrounding these two pans are number of smaller pans including Kudiakam, Nxai and Kaucaca to the north. No vegetation grows on these pans but grass lands can be seen at the fringes along with huge baobab trees. The Makgadikgadi National Park is an area of 3900 sq km that includes the western end of Ntwetwe in the east to the Boteti river in the west, south east of the Okavango Delta and surrounded by the Kalahari desert. The wet season provides many opportunities for good safaris as large herds of zebra and wildebeest start migrating towards the Boteti region. The other species spotted could be eland, kudu, hartebeest, bushbuck, giraffe, steenbok, gemsbok, duiker, springbok, elephant, rare brown hyena, lion and cheetah. The dry season drives some animals away but the aardwolf, Arican wildcat, honey badger, kudu, meerkats, caracal, genet, ground squirrels, aardvarks, small bustards and other desert-adapted creature stay. During the dry winter months, the migrations head westwards to the Boteti River to scoop up any remaining water, but many desert-adapted creatures remain resident.

After a beautiful day in the pans, we will make our way back to the lodge where a delicious dinner will be served.

  • Day 10: Free day

The sounds of the bush will wake you up on this beautiful morning. A delicious breakfast and freshly brewed coffee will be served. (different dietary requirements are catered for).

Today will be a relaxing day. You will have the entire day to spend as you please – relax next to the pool, take a walk, and enjoy the bird species, enjoy a drink in the bar. Talk to your guide about things to do.

Once again, a delicious dinner will be served under the African stars.

  • Day 11: Speedboat Safari

The sounds of the bush will wake you up on this beautiful morning. A delicious breakfast and freshly brewed coffee will be served. (different dietary requirements are catered for).

After breakfast we will make our way to the nearest boat station where we depart on a thrilling speedboat safari.

Seeing wildlife from the water is a nice alternative to (always) game viewing from a safari vehicle, and in the Delta you’re going to see a cross section of landscapes from narrow waterways, to larger rivers, to huge lagoons. Some areas will be papyrus-lined, others will have jackalberry and other large trees on the banks and then you‘ll go through a few places where savannah is on one side and dense vegetation on the other. It’s photogenic and relaxing, and of course if game comes down to the edge of the water you can get very close to them, for a different angle and hopefully some lovely photos.

Taking a motor boat trip is a very different experience from being in a mokoro.

Afterwards we will return to the lodge where a delicious dinner will be served.

  • Day 12: Horseback safari

The sounds of the bush will wake you up on this beautiful morning. A delicious breakfast and freshly brewed coffee will be served. (different dietary requirements are catered for).

Today we will do something extremely exciting – a horseback safari! Pride of place on many riders’ bucket lists, Botswana is one of the best places on earth to horse ride. The country boasts a huge array of wildlife, huge fence-less landscapes and scenery which is out of this world. The guiding and most importantly, the horses available in Botswana are exceptional.

Horse riding in Botswana will stay with you forever. The riding safaris available are as varied as you could imagine, taking you from harsh dry desert-lands to delta wetlands. The riding here is fast-paced and incredibly exciting, with some of the horseback safaris even offering the chance to jump elephant-felled logs. As a result, Botswana has earned its place at the top of many riders’ bucket lists.

Afterwards we will head back to the lodge where a delicious dinner will await.

  • Day 13: Elephant Sands

You will enjoy a delicious breakfast whereafter you will sadly leave this beautiful place behind. We will check out and make our way to Elephant Sands. Elephant Sands is a bush lodge & campsite in the north-eastern part of Botswana. Come and enjoy viewing the elephants at our natural waterhole right in front of the lodge. Watch these impressive creatures whilst they drink at only a couple of meters away from you, a unique experience!

We will check in and you will have the rest of the day to relax while watching the elephants go about their normal day.

A delicious dinner will be served.

  • Day 14: Drop off in Kasane

Today will be an early start as we make our way back to Kasane. Sadly, this is your last day in Botswana.

Drop off will be late afternoon/early evening.
