Our journey began at Boteti, filled with excitement as we set off toward the picturesque Black Pool Boga campsite, which would be our home for the next two nights. The drive to our campsite was beautiful, showcasing the stunning landscapes that define this region. Upon arrival, we took a moment to soak in our surroundings, setting up camp amid the sounds of nature and the promise of wildlife encounters. As the sun began to set, we enjoyed our first evening, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African bush, where general game roamed freely, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
The following day, we rose early, eager to explore. Our morning drive around Black Pools and Xini was filled with anticipation, and it did not disappoint. We were rewarded with a sighting of a majestic male lion and two females, gracefully resting in the shade. The highlight of the morning came when we spotted a pack of 17 wild dogs, their energy and playfulness a sight to behold. The abundance of general game around us added to the excitement, with herds of impala and other species grazing in the lush vegetation. After a fulfilling morning, we returned to camp for a hearty lunch, sharing stories of our encounters and soaking in the beautiful surroundings.
In the afternoon, we set out for a drive south toward the hippo pools, where the landscape transformed into a stunning tapestry of water and grasslands. Here, we were treated to even more general game, and the sight of hippos lounging in the water brought smiles to our faces. It was a fantastic day, filled with moments of awe and wonder.
On the third day, we packed up camp, ready for our next adventure in Khwai. Before departing, we enjoyed an early morning drive around the Black Pools floodplains. The morning was crisp, and we felt a thrill as we spotted a pack of three wild dogs, a hyena, and a black-backed jackal. These encounters added to our growing list of wildlife sightings and heightened our excitement as we made our way to Khwai Mbudi. The drive to our new location was scenic, allowing us to appreciate the beauty of the African landscape as we traveled.
Arriving in Khwai, we were eager to set out on our final day. We began our explorations early, focusing on areas like Magotho, Onks Crossing, Leopard Lagoon, and the Barbra side. Each location offered unique landscapes and the potential for amazing wildlife sightings. We were fortunate to spot five female lions, a powerful sight against the backdrop of the bush, along with various bird species flitting about. The thrill of seeing such magnificent animals in their natural habitat created lasting memories for our guests.
As the afternoon approached, it was time for our guests to fly to Boteti Tented Camp. We wrapped up our trip with smiles and a deep sense of accomplishment, knowing we had provided an unforgettable adventure. To cap off the experience, we enjoyed the serene Daunara Mokoro excursion and a bush walk at the islands in the Okavango Delta. This peaceful experience allowed us to connect even more deeply with the environment, providing a perfect end to our journey. We are incredibly grateful for the time spent with our guests and hope to see them again soon for more wildlife experiences and adventures!
